Privacy Policy

Summary: The Fairyland app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. All data (child's name, age, progress) stays on your device only. There are no ads, no third-party tracking, no analytics.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the Fairyland mobile application ("App"), developed by İsmet Deniz Balta ("we", "the developer"), collects, uses, and protects personal information.
By downloading and using the App, you agree to the terms of this policy.
2. Data We Collect
The App stores the following information only on your device to provide its services:
- Parent name (optional, you enter during onboarding)
- Child name (optional, for personalization)
- Child age (you select for content adaptation: 2-6)
- Language preference (TR/EN)
- In-app progress (completed stories, earned badges, game stats)
- User settings (narrator mode, puzzle on/off, etc.)
- Premium subscription status (managed via RevenueCat, see below)
2.1 Data Sent to Our Servers
None. All the information listed above is stored in your device's local storage (AsyncStorage) and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
2.2 Third-Party Services
Our App uses the following third-party services:
- Apple StoreKit (Apple Inc.): for premium subscription purchases. Apple processes your payment information under the Apple Privacy Policy. Apple sends us only an anonymous identifier representing your subscription status (active/cancelled).
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.): to verify subscription status. RevenueCat uses an anonymous user ID (not linked to your Apple ID). RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Microsoft Edge TTS (Microsoft Corporation): for narrating educational and tutorial text (only fixed strings from within the app — e.g. story titles, tutorial guidance). No user-entered data (such as child name or age) is sent to this service — for any text that could contain personal data, the App uses the iOS on-device speech synthesizer instead. Microsoft processes these requests under its own privacy policy.
- Expo Updates (Expo, Inc.): to check for code updates on app launch. Your device's IP address, iOS version, and the app's runtime version are sent to Expo's servers; no personal information is transmitted. Expo Privacy Policy
Outside these services, the App functions completely offline.
3. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
This App is designed for children ages 2-7. We do not collect, share, or sell any personal data from children. The App is listed in Apple's "Kids" category and fully complies with Apple's children's privacy guidelines and COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).
3.1 Parental Consent
When the App is first launched, parent mode is enabled, and onboarding steps must be completed by parents only. Premium subscriptions are gated behind a parent verification (math problem gate).
3.2 Advertisements
The App contains no advertisements. No third-party ad networks are used.
3.3 Analytics / Tracking
The App uses no analytics tools that track user behavior (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, no Facebook SDK, etc.). Even Apple's App Analytics feature is disabled (NSPrivacyTracking: false in our manifest).
4. Data Retention and Deletion
All App data is stored only on your device. You can delete it by:
- In-app: Profile → Settings → Developer Tools → "Reset all progress"
- iOS Settings: iPhone Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Fairyland → Delete App
Deleting the App removes all local data. It cannot be recovered.
5. Premium Subscriptions and Purchase Data
When you purchase a Premium subscription:
- Your payment information is processed by Apple, not by us.
- RevenueCat receives an anonymous verification from Apple to confirm your subscription status.
- You can cancel your subscription anytime via iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- "Family Sharing" is enabled; your subscription is shared with all members of your iCloud Family group (up to 6 people).
6. Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your device directly determines the App's data security. We recommend setting up a device lock (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode) on your iPhone.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Although we do not collect personal data on our servers, applicable data protection laws may grant you the following rights:
- The right to know what data is collected
- The right to access your data
- The right to request deletion
- The right to data portability
- The right to object to processing

Important note: Since the App does not send data to our servers, we have no data to delete. To remove your data, simply delete the App or follow the steps described in Section 4 above.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be announced within the App. When an updated policy is published on this page, the date at the top will be revised.
